Over 2,400 SSA members and guests gathered at the highly anticipated 2024 SSA Gala dinner on the evening of 27 September at the Grand Sands Ballroom of Marina Bay Sands.
Gracing the occasion as Guest of Honour was Mr. Murali Pillai, Minister of State for Law and Transportation, alongside distinguished ambassadors and foreign representatives from Japan, Denmark and Norway which added an international flair to the night.
SSA President Ms. Caroline Yang welcomed the guests by highlighting the exceptional milestones achieved this year with Singapore holding its position as the world’s leading maritime centre and retaining the titled as the Leading Maritime City. Ms Yang attributed these accomplishments to Singapore’s well-established maritime ecosystem that cements Singapore’s position as a maritime business hub.
Ms. Yang also shared a series of initiatives introduced by the SSA in 2024 including Digital Bunkering, Low-to-Zero Carbon Fuels, Maritime Sustainability Management (including offering carbon accounting workshops for members), Cybersecurity and Workforce Singapore’s Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for the Sea Transport sector.
Minister of State (MOS) Murali, joined by the members of the SSA council, took the stage for a toasting ceremony with the entire ballroom to the continued health and success of members and their guests’ growth and prosperity of Singapore’s ever-growing vibrant Maritime Industry.
As the evening drew to a close, the atmosphere remained vibrant, with the guests taking the opportunity to forge new connections and strengthen the existing ones.
