
On 18 October 2025, SSA proudly supported the Plant-A-Tree Programme with a donation of 16 trees. This meaningful contribution highlights its commitment to sustainability and community engagement. SSA President Mr. TS Teo and Council Member Mr. Joey Chua joined maritime professionals and scholars at the Rail Corridor to plant trees as part of Singapore’s One Million Trees Movement.
Organised by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) in partnership with the National Parks Board’s Garden City Fund. The event rallied together nearly 100 past and present MaritimeONE scholars and 17 corporate donors from the shipping industry.
Minister of State, Mr Baey Yam Keng, from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Transport, graced the occasion. He joined participants in the tree planting, reinforcing the importance of giving back to the community.
The event saw 122 trees planted on the day. In addition, the maritime community raised $36,000 for charity underscoring the sector’s dedication to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.
SSA is honoured to contribute to this initiative, which reflects its commitment to building a more sustainable future and fostering strong community ties. Through collective action, the maritime industry continues to chart a course towards a greener, more resilient Singapore.
