
To close an exciting year, YEG hosted its Year-End Networking event on 27 November 2025 at Ark 11. It brought together young professionals for an evening of connection and celebration. The event featured icebreaker games and a fun Best Photobooth Photo Contest, strengthening camaraderie among members.
Prizes were also given to sporting attendees who participated in games. A special thank you to the prize sponsors, United Airlines, Merchant Court Paradox, Direct Search, Qatar Airways, and Tradewinds, for their generous support.
Year in Review
In his opening remarks, Mr. Prabjot Singh Chopra, Chairperson of the YEG Committee, talked about how 2025 was another year of growth that created meaningful opportunities for young maritime professionals. Over 900 representatives from 238 SSA member companies were engaged through YEG activities, reflecting the committee’s commitment to empowering the next generation of maritime leaders.
Meaningful Professional Development and Connections
From knowledge-sharing sessions to site visits, YEG created diverse opportunities for professional development. Event highlights included:
- International Women’s Day programmes – Celebrating diversity and inclusion
- Jurong Port Visit and PSA Marine Tour – Behind-the-scenes industry insights
- Cycle & Clean – Promoting sustainability through action
These initiatives offered members unique exposure to the maritime industry while fostering collaboration and learning.
Beyond professional development, YEG championed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and networking events, creating opportunities for members to build connections and collaborate meaningfully.
Looking Forward to 2026
Mr. Chopra also introduced the incoming YEG Committee for the new term:

- Secretary: Ms. Vanessa Xavier
- Treasurer: Mr. Ho Pey Yann
As we step into 2026, YEG is excited to introduce more initiatives for engagement and growth. Mr. Chopra outlined YEG’s 2026 priorities and initiatives for the community to look forward to. Initiatives include more Maritime Conversations workshops, International Maritime Women’s Day programmes and CSR activities.
These initiatives are designed to provide exposure and accelerate member’s professional and personal growth. YEG members can look forward to fresh ideas, stronger connections, and a continued commitment to supporting young maritime professionals.
