Everyone Onboard Programme (EOB)

Career Conversion Programme - Sea Transport (CCP)

Maritime AI Programme

The Executive Development Programme (EDP) is our flagship training initiative aimed at strengthening the capabilities of maritime professionals, ensuring that Singapore’s shipping industry remains competitive and future ready.

The EDP offers a comprehensive suite of courses, under topics such as Shipping 101 courses, which covers the various shipping operations and principles; Regulatory & Compliance courses for the Bunker Industry; Technical & Operations courses covering topics such as ESG, Scope 3 Emissions; Future Skills that include AI for shipping; and Maritime Decarbonisation, which covers not just alternative fuels and net-zero energy, but also introduces the Fundamentals of Marine Green Fuels for anyone working in the industry.

Impact

This FY, through the EDP, SSA has supported the upskilling of 700 maritime professionals through 20 different training courses held throughout the year. The EDP continues to serve as an effective platform for capability development and industry integration, strengthening both individual competencies and the broader maritime talent ecosystem.

The Everyone Onboard Programme (EOB) was launched this reporting year to help corporate support professionals working in the sector, such as HR practitioners, executives, and administrative staff, gain a deeper understanding of the maritime industry. This will enable them to be better connected to the maritime ecosystem, fostering a cohesive workforce aligned with its strategic priorities.

Impact

The inaugural run of the EOB Programme was held on 4 December 2026, with 24 corporate support professionals from various maritime organisations participating to gain deeper insights of Singapore’s vibrant maritime industry.

SSA continues to be the appointed programme partner for Workforce Singapore’s (WSG) Career Conversion Programme for the Sea Transport sector (CCP). Through the programme, we support the maritime industry in transforming their workforce through targeted hiring, reskilling, and job redesign initiatives, thereby ensuring a sustainable pipeline of skilled talent aligned with industry needs.

The CCP is delivered through two key modalities tailored to address distinct workforce challenges. The first modality focuses on the training of new hires, particularly mid-career professionals entering the maritime sector, by providing structured On-the-Job Training to equip them with the necessary skills for their new roles. The second modality supports companies in reskilling existing employees whose job roles are evolving due to business transformation, enabling them to adapt to expanded or redesigned responsibilities. Support is provided through the form of salary support, based on the age profile of employees. These subsidies significantly reduce the cost of workforce transformation and facilitate smoother transition for both employers and employees.

Impact

This FY, we successfully converted 237 maritime professionals from 41 companies through the CCP Programme, spanning a variety of job functions across the sea transport sector into their new roles.

To help maritime businesses kickstart their AI journey, we launched the Maritime AI Programme on 21 April 2026. Through this programme, adopting companies are equipped with the skills to identify use cases, pilot solutions and deploy AI tools responsibly.

Companies can also tap on Workforce Singapore’s (WSG) Career Conversion Programme – Sea Transport (CCP) for support in job role redesign and salary support, enabling employees to transition into AI-enhanced roles and build a future-ready workforce.

The Maritime AI programme is structured using a three-pronged approach of awareness, training and adoption.

Impact

The inaugural Maritime AI Readiness Forum 2026 held on 14 January 2026 saw over 100 industry players, AI practitioners and policy makers gathered to discuss meaningful application of AI across maritime functions.
