On 18 June 2026, the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) convened members at its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM). It brought together 188 members to provide an update on the Association’s work and priorities for the term ahead.
This year’s AGM marks the first formal reporting by the 2025/2027 SSA Council under the leadership of SSA President Mr TS Teo.
First Council Report Under New Leadership
During the meeting, members were updated on SSA’s activities over the past year by each committee chair and the Council’s focus areas moving forward.
In the President’s Report, Mr Teo outlined the Council’s strategic direction and reaffirmed SSA’s commitment to supporting members through both immediate challenges and long-term industry shifts.
He highlighted the Association’s work this past year focused on three key priorities: enhancing operational efficiency, growing talent pipelines, and preparing the industry for the future. SSA supported the sector’s future by awarding scholarships and growing the Young Executives Group. Concurrently, the Association delivered extensive training and development programmes, including the Executive Development Programme and Career Conversion Programme. Industry engagement was also reinforced through various platforms, alongside active contribution from members across committees and workgroups.

Following the President’s Report, the operational committee Chairs shared their respective reports, highlighting initiatives undertaken across SSA’s committees and workgroups. These reports provided members with visibility into how SSA continues to advocate for their interests across key areas and deliver value to the membership.

The AGM ended with a robust Q&A session where the Council addressed queries and collected feedback from the members. The Association also took the opportunity to reaffirm that its effectiveness depends on active member participation and open dialogue.
As the 2025/2027 Council continues its term, SSA remains focused on driving initiatives that will support members navigating an increasingly complex operating landscape, while positioning them for sustainable, long-term growth.
