The event kicked off with a private guided tour of the Singapore Maritime Gallery, where children from all ages could learn about Singapore’s maritime heritage through interactive exhibits, displays and stories. The gallery depicted Singapore’s start as a sleepy fishing village, progressing through the years to the International Maritime Centre it is today, as well as what the industry aspires to achieve in the future.
For those who were not a part of the maritime industry, this tour offered them a small glimpse into Singapore’s maritime industry. There was also the Maritime Career Quest, an interactive adventure where participants could talk to five ‘Maritime Heroes’, finding out more about their professions and collecting stamps for exciting prizes. These ‘Heroes’ comprised of volunteers from SSA Secretariat as well as SSA members.
The event concluded with a hearty networking lunch, where members networked with their peers, while children took part in the other mini-games and activities, while facing the view of the Port of Singapore.
